What are families saying about Common Roots Gathering on the Land?
"I loved honoring my daughter in such a beautiful place while giving homage to the season around her birth. Your gift with children allowed me to relax and let someone else lead the way! Thank you JoAnne. It was a great memory to have from her special day. " (Mother of 5 year old) A five year old accompanied by her father who is a local doctor attended a birthday gathering. Common Roots Gatherings For 2019 Winter and Spring!
Winter and Spring 2019 begins our second year of Gatherings at Wheeler Nature Park. Gatherings are individually designed to joyfully celebrate a birthday, a family get together with grandparents and cousins, a rite of passage, or a guided community outing.
Storytelling or puppetry can offer a magical venue to feel into the hidden treasures of the season. A simple artistic activity with Nature’s gifts invites us to echo back our appreciation for the bounty and beauty of Nature. Land-based walkabouts help us breathe with the landscape’s many mysteries. Nibbles of wild or seasonal foods warm us through and through with gratitude for the yum of the natural world.
Each Gathering is a festive occasion created to focus on body and soul nourishment connecting us more deeply to Nature’s offerings, seasonal nutrient dense food, and the mood of the seasonal rhythms that nurture us with life force and inspiration.
JoAnne Dennee, a farm, food, and forest pre-K and kindergarten teacher of 42 years is your guide. $100 an hour for up to eight guests. (Price adjustments are considered.) Two hours or less recommended for children up to five years, two hours for older groups. Longer gatherings for older groups can be explored. Wheeler Nature Park is located at 1100 Dorset Street in S. Burlington. Inquire with JoAnne at email@example.com or 802 734-2979.
