Welcome to the Common Roots Farmstand Membership Program. We are so excited to grow your food this season! Salad greens, radishes and herbs are on the way in one of our greenhouses, and believe it or not, we transplanted cabbage and broccoli into the haygroves last week! We’ve got a little less than a month until our last frost date, but we’re pushing the boundaries to bring you the longest, most bountiful season possible. So, we have some exciting news:
The Farmstand will be open on Saturdays and Sundays in May (8am-8pm), and 7 days/week starting Saturday, June 1st!
How do I use my membership? Each member will receive membership cards that allow you to pay down your balance as you shop throughout the season. Your member cards will be ready and waiting for you at the farmstand on opening day along with detailed instructions for checking out. All cards will live at the farmstand throughout the season, so you don’t need to worry about keeping track of them. Common Roots staff and volunteers will be around on opening weekend to help answer any questions, but please know that you can always get in touch with us here: email@example.com. Do not hesitate to reach out, and remember that you are free to visit the farmstand whenever is convenient for you and spend your balance down on anything in the farmstand!
What will the farmstand carry? The farmstand will carry our fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers! We will have a variety of vegetable and flower seedlings for your garden too, throughout May, and while supplies last.
Our farmstand also carries a variety of local products from some pretty incredible VT food producers! We will have Rugbrook Farm Pork, Bread & Butter Beef, Strafford Creamery Ice Cream, Aqua Vitae Kombucha and Shelburne Farms Cheese just to name a few. Plus, Farmer Fae will be turning our produce into incredible foods all season long! These pestos, pickles, sauces, etc. will also be available for purchase at the farmstand. Check out the Kitchen Corner in our weekly newsletter for updates on what’s cooking!
Where is the farmstand? The farmstand is located in South Village, at the intersection of Spear Street and Allen Road. Drive into South Village via Allen Road East, and the farm driveway will be about a tenth of a mile down the road on the Left. The farmstand driveway is a one-way street, and there is room for parking on the left side of the driveway as you approach the farmstand. The farmstand is located in the small red barn on the right hand side. Please drive carefully while at the farm and mind the 5mph speed limit.
What else do I need to know? We ask that you please bring your own reusable shopping bags with you. Don’t forget that your membership also includes access to our Pick-Your-Own Flower Patch, which should be in bloom in July and August. You may want to bring your own clippers and a bucket for cutting flowers, but we’ll give you a heads up before that time comes.
Are there still memberships available? YES! We would love it if you could help us spread the word about our farmstand! First and foremost, ALL ARE WELCOME. We are open to the public, so you don’t need to be a member to shop with us. That said, each membership comes with bonus spending cash! So, we’ve attached our membership flyer here for you to share with any family, friends, neighbors or community members who might be interested in joining the program. Thank you for helping us!
We’re so excited that you’ll be joining us this season, and we look forward to meeting each and every one of you! Please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
