Libby Moss joins Common Roots as the Development and Revenue Diversification VISTA member. She will support fundraising, donor stewardship, grant coordination, sponsorship development, and mission-sustaining revenue systems. She found interest in fundraising through door-to-door canvassing with Run on Climate as their Summer Canvass Director.

Before moving to Vermont for college, she lived in Bali, Indonesia, for almost all her life. Bali is a small but ecologically diverse tropical island. She grew up surrounded by rice paddies, eating all kinds of fruit growing in her backyard and swimming amongst the colorful fish and coral. Over the years, she noticed that increased urbanization and tourism replaced farms and beaches with hotels. Libby came to Vermont hoping to learn about how communities can grow in relationship with the land and environment through education. She recently graduated with a degree in Sustainability, Ecology, and Policy and minored in Environmental Studies. She is here to bring her past experience and continue her learning at Common Roots.

For Libby, the smell of Chef Tony’s red sauce cooking in preparation for Common Roots’ Flatbread Friday events always reminds her of making tomato sauce with her dad growing up.
