Jeff first visited Vermont as a child and was immediately drawn to its rural landscape, mountains, woods, and streams. He moved to Burlington shortly after graduating from Niagara University in 1979. After a forty-year career in technology sales and marketing, Jeff retired as a partner in SymQuest Group in 2023. Jeff has owned and operated the Vermont Voyageurs semi-professional lacrosse franchise since 2008. The voyageurs compete against high-level teams from New England, New York, and the Province of Quebec.

He previously served on the Essex Junction Prudential Committee (K-8 school board), Essex Union #46 High School Board, and Chittenden Central Supervisory Union Board in a variety of positions from 2001 to 2014. Jeff serves on Faith Influenced Leaders (FIL) for the South Burlington Food Shelf and volunteers as a trail ambassador for the Green Mountain Club.

In his free time, he enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, biking, fly fishing, gardening, and the Vermont outdoors. What initially attracted Jeff to Common Roots was the delicious pizza served on Flatbread Friday. He supports Common Roots' mission of providing locally grown, high-quality organic produce, food education in South Burlington schools, and food equity through the South Burlington Food Shelf.
